I am working with a group to help set up a national marching band (s) in Belize. The organization I am working with is called the Consortium for Belize Educational Co-operation (COBEC). COBEC (US colleges) is non-profit. They provide annual educational support to schools in Belize. Murray State sends student teachers to schools in Belize through this program each year. My provost is very involved with this organization and came to me with a request to help start marching bands in Belize. Schools in Belize are very poor and I am trying to find uniforms and equipment to ship to Belize.

I writing this note to ask for your assistance in this exciting project. We are looking for a set of used uniforms to send them. If you have an old set of uniforms sitting in a storage room, might you consider a donating them? I am not sure of the number of uniforms needed, but I assume the band won’t be very big. Uniforms for a Central American Marching Band will need to be lightweight. We would pick up the uniforms @ your school. All shipping costs will be covered by COBEC.

MSU is donating a few of our old marching drums to Belize.
