Attention Color Guard Instructors and Adjudicators,

I have had several requests over the last couple of years to create a color guard adjudication sheet that has the same layout and appearance as the KMEA sheets.  There is a percussion sheet on the kyband.com website that I created in 2008 through a collaboration of over 30 percussion educators in Kentucky.  Last year it was commonly used at KMEA sanctioned contest.

Pending an additional reading the KMEA Marching Band Committee will probably adopt new sheets for the 2011 marching season.  The new version of the percussion sheet is under construction and now would be the best time to start the process of making a new color guard adjudication sheet using the same format as the KMEA sheets.

Over the next few weeks I will build the preliminary version of the sheet.  I want to sshare it with anyone that would like to share their input and be involved in the process of creating this sheet.  Over the next few months I will post the most current version of the sheet until the final version is complete.   I plan to have the project complete by July 1.  I have no expertise in color guard but I am doing this because of several requests plus the ability to contact those involved in the activity and the ability to promote and deliver the final product to the contest hosts.

Band directors have already been notified of this project.  Guard Instructors, please let me know if you want to be included in this project. I am looking for those people that are knowledgeable and have a proven track record in the activity.

Let me conclude by saying that I am very aware that I cannot complete this project and have everyone involved be in 100% agreement.  However it will be my attempt to have a final product that will have the greatest consensus of those that participate.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.
