Percussion Composer-Arranger/ Marching Percussion Specialist
My name is Ondraus Cissell. I am a Percussion Composer-Arranger/ Marching Percussion Specialist. I have written and arranged for marching percussion since my sophomore year of high school. I have instructed high school, and college ensembles of various sizes in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Louisiana.
I have marched with The Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, and The Imperial Guard Drum and Bugle Corps. I have instructed with The Phantom Regiment, and and with Northern Aurora Drum and Bugle Corps.
As a marching and staff member in drum corps; I am a seven time Drum Corps International World Class Finalist, and a DCI Open Class Finalist.
Also, I have instructed for Mr. W. Dale Warren at North Hardin High School of Radcliff winning three straight Kentucky Large Class State Championships at the Festival of Champions in 1983, 1984, and 1985; a Contest of Champions Class A Championship in 1983, and a Contest of Champions Grand Championship in 1984. In 1985 North Hardin finished 5th at the Bands of America National Championships with Mr. Warren, and in 1989 finished 4th at the BOA National Championships with Mr. Craig Cornish. I have also instructed for Mr. Cornish at North Hardin winning three straight KMEA Class AAAA State Championships in 1986, 1987, and 1989. Plus, three Contest of Champions Grand Championships; with North Hardin in 1986, and with Paul Laurence Dunbar High School of Lexington in 1995, and 1996.
As an instructor with the preceding bands I am a 12-time KMEA State Finalist, and a 10-time Contest of Champions Finalist.
I have adjudicated in Kentucky and Indiana since 1990. I have also adjudicated indoors on the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit, and Michigan Color Guard Circuit. I formerly served on the Winter Guard International Percussion Advisory Board. I have also instructed at the Middle Tennessee State University Marching Percussion Clinic with Lalo Davila, Ralph Hardiman, Scott Johnson, Matt Savage, and Bruce McConnell. My references include W.
