Madison Central seeking Guard Instructor
The Madison Central Band is actively seeking a creative, energetic, passionate, dedicated, and responsible person to serve as Color Guard instructor and perhaps Caption Head for the 2012 Competitive Season. While the design of the show is in process and the writing for the coming season has been largely contracted, the successful applicant will have the chance to work with a highly competitive and visible marching program. The Madison Central Band was the KMEA AAAAA Runner up in 2009 State Finals and has been a AAAAA Finalist for four out of the last five years!
Next years group will be quite strong with almost the entire bulk of a very young State Finalist band and guard coming back. We anticipate over 100 musicians and 22 to 28 Color Guard members (with the possibility for more). The show for next year is quite unique and exciting, and will be quite competive both in and out of AAAAA. The successful applicant will have a chance to have an immediate impact on the band and Color Guard and will have a chance to compete with the very finest programs in Kentucky.
The successful applicant must have demonstrated 1). Successful teaching skills with another program, in or out of Kentucky; 2) a willingness to be part of a team; 3) responsible and able to attend a majority of rehearsals and contests, 4) a fun and positive disposition; 5) a love for students and teaching, 6) Creative skills in the area of design and transitions 6) a fundamental understand of both weapons and flag work and 7)professionalism and very refined communication skills!
